As part of its Global Health Film Club, the UK's Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) is to show 'Mother: Caring for 7 Billion', a film that looks at the problem of population growth. The film features contributions from world-renowned experts and scientists, including biologist Paul Ehrlich (author of 'The Population Bomb'), economist Mathis Wackernagel (creator of the ground-breaking 'Footprint Network'), Malcolm Potts (a pioneer in human reproductive health), and Riane Eisler (author of 'The Chalice and the Blade', a book published in 23 countries). A chaired discussion will follow the screening of the film, and then delegates will be invited to stay for a networking reception. 'Mother: Caring for 7 Billion' is being shown by the RSM to canvass support for international organizations that focus on population issues, help empower women, seek to improve reproductive health, or promote the cause of human rights.
