International Brain Tumour Alliance (IBTA), UK and Australia

The International Brain Tumour Alliance (IBTA) fund-raising Walk Around the World for Brain Tumours will run from 1st January 2012 to 31st December 2012. Potential participants are encouraged to undertake sponsored (or unsponsored) walks to raise awareness about brain tumours, and to  donate the funds from their mileage covered to the World Walk target of circling the earth. This sponsored activity is remarkable in being capable of raising millions. The IBTA points out that it does not receive any of the funds raised by these walks (or by other brain tumour awareness-raising activities). All of the funds raised are donated to brain tumour support or research work. The IBTA is also announcing the 6th International Brain Tumour Awareness Week, to be held between Sunday 28th October and Saturday 3rd November 2012, and people are encouraged to organise an  activity which will contribute to increased awareness about brain  tumours.
