| Following the 2011 launch of the Global Atrial Fibrillation (AF) Patient Charter, an initiative backed by 43 patient groups from 20 countries, the campaign Sign Against Stroke in Atrial Fibrillation |
is seeking to obtain 1.7 million signatures to support the Charter. This figure was chosen, as it represents the estimated number of people killed or disabled by AF strokes every year. The Charter makes specific recommendations to help put AF and AF-related stroke prevention at the forefront of national health agendas. Add Comment The Heart Rhythm Congress is an annual UK-based event run by the Atrial Fibrillation Association (AFA), and aimed at all involved in the management and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. The 2012 Congress will take place in Birmingham, England, on 23rd-26th September 2012, and will offer innovative and interactive learning, education and training to promote diversity, plus details of improved technology in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmia. The Congress will include a day devoted solely to patients. |
