The US-based ALS Association is participating in National Healthcare Decisions Day (NHDD) on April 16th 2012. NHDD is "a nationwide program committed to ensuring that all adults with decision-making capacity have the information and opportunity to communicate and document their healthcare decisions." The Association is hoping that participation will help it empower people living with ALS by increasing awareness of the importance of 'advance care planning'.
